FAQ: Virtual Event

What is a virtual event?

A virtual event is a type of event which is delivered entirely through an online platform. The virtual platform has various features enabling delegates to view, participate and meet virtually, such as live-feed video of speakers presenting, live chat functions and Q&A, etc.

Who should attend virtual event?

We invite participants from across the energy industry as well as representatives from companies seeking to enter the Iraqi energy market. We expect a high number of senior representatives from the Government, IOCs, NOCs, Service Companies, Finance and Legal sectors. To view the full calibre of last year’s attendees, download our 2019 Post Event Report. We also welcome all the new delegates who might find it easier to join the platform this year without the necessity to travel long distance.

How long is the event?

The virtual Conference will take place over 2 half days on 21 and 22 October 2020 during the following times:

08:00 – 12:15 Washington D.C.

13:00 – 17:15 London

15:00 – 19:15 Baghdad

Is the event taking place in London and will it be streamed live?

No, there will be no physical event taking place this year. All speakers, sponsors and delegates will be connected remotely to the virtual platform where the event will take place.

Will the recordings be made available after the event?

Yes, all attendees will be sent the full recordings of the two-day conference.

Can I share the recording with anyone after the event?

  • a computer or mobile phone
  • stable Wi-Fi network
  • functioning audio and video functions

Do I need a webcam for this event?

No. Sharing your video content is not required but you might find it useful for virtual networking.

How do I log in into a virtual event on the day of the event?

You will join the event by logging into the app with the same email as the one you used to register to the event.

How can I interact and network with other delegates?

Delegates will be able to connect with other attendees even before to the event. So the earlier you register, the longer you will have to see who is on the platform!

There will be several ways to engage in virtual networking:

  • Participate in the live Roundtables to interact with other attendees
  • Send attendees a request to connect with a message
  • Once attendees approve, share your details and book meetings on the platform
  • Connect via call, video call or live chat
