Dr. Benali has over 20 years of specialized experience in strategic planning, finance and engineering. She joined from Saudi Aramco where she was responsible for the company’s energy policy and gas strategy. Throughout her career, she has successfully managed several high-value projects, and spearheaded strategy and policy formulation for governments, energy companies, industrials and institutional investors. Dr. Benali also served as a Director at IHS CERA (Cambridge Energy Research Associates), now IHS Markit, and has also worked for Schlumberger. She taught energy courses in universities and is an active member of several leading energy associations.
As an engineer turned economist, with a background in political science, she has published numerous papers and books on energy, reforms and sustainable wealth. She was named as “Future Leader 2016” by Petroleum Economist, recognizing individuals who are most likely to shape the industry’s future.
Dr. Benali holds a Master of Science degree in Political Science and a PhD Summa Cum Laude in Energy Economics from the Institute d’Etudes Politiques, France.
