Hussain Qaragholi is Head of Northern Gulf & Levant, Institutional & Treasury Coverage (CBC) at Deutsche Bank.
Hussain began his finance career in New York with Merrill Lynch. In 2003, Hussain joined Citigroup and was part of the core team that transacted on the $22 billion Saddam-era commercial debt restructuring.
Since joining Deutsch Bank in 2014, Hussain transacted on the: $1bln Iraq 2022 USAID bond; the $1bln, Iraq 2023 bond; $192mm SACE-covered loan for the Hilla and Baghdad South power plants and; $105 COFACE-covered loan for the Bazian IPP.
Hussain served on the Advisory Board of the RAND Corporation’s CMEPP; Member of the Atlantic Council’s Task Force on the Future of Iraq (2015-17), and; President of the U.S. Business Council in Iraq (2011-14)
Hussain has been featured in the Financial Times, Time Magazine, The Banker, FDI Magazine, Platts Energy Week, Iraqiyya Television and the internationally broadcast CNBC Capital Connection.
Hussain holds a Bachelors of Arts with Honors from The College of William and Mary, and Master’s Degree from the School of Foreign Service and an MBA from Georgetown University.
